The Lost Chapters

Posted by Ruok On January - 13 - 2010

I’ll be appearing in tomorrow’s double bill episode of The Lost Chapters, which is screening on Channel 5.

I think the series starts at 7pm and my episode will be on at 7.30pm.

In case, you are wondering, yes, its the Lim Boon Keng episode.

It might also be one of the last few times you’ll see me on telly, at least for a while.

Hive of Villiany and Scum

Posted by Ruok On December - 25 - 2009

Check this out from the very talented Jeff. It was truly the highlight of the awesome Christmas party last night. A party where I went there half-drunk and end up being half-sober while I was leaving.

Some of you might not get all the jokes unless you are part of said hive though… but this might help. 😉

I’m alive!

Not dead, though this blog has been dead for the past two months.

What have I been up to? Apart from just one shoot, I’ve been kinda in a state of funk. But details of that shoot later.

Jill told me to sign myself up on, so I did. And in doing so, I found out I actually have an IMDb credit!

I’m alive!! 😛

Bangers & Mash

Posted by Ruok On September - 16 - 2009

Bangers & Mash is an exciting new design firm that helped errm design my name card.

Yeah, I know it’s weird for an actor to have one, but I had it made primarily because of the workshop, thinking it would be of some use. So far, I daresay, I’ve given it out more to curious friends than people in the industry.

Anyway, I digress, this post is to plug Bangers & Mash!

These guys have been very helpful and I think the ideas that they come up with during the process was definitely not run-of-the-mill. In fact, they pooed pooed all my suggestions as “been there, done that”. I don’t know whether to feel insulted or blessed.

I decided to feel blessed. :)

This was the final draft of the card :

My personal choice was the last one or the middle one, but they told me this, amongst other things :

“The first one doesn’t fit the stereotype of you / shows another side of you, so you won’t get typecast in roles.”

Needless to say, I was sold and the next issue was the color of the background, whether to choose a white background and make it look more like a Polaroid. In the end, the white one was chosen as it would make more visual impact and get people to talk about it.

So the final product was :

Cool huh?

Do check them out and see other samples of their work!

The Black Dragon Cometh

Posted by Ruok On May - 25 - 2009

The Ultimatum starts this Wednesday, 27 May, 9pm on TCS 8.

Which means I’ll be appearing as the so-obviously-named-to-be-a-gangster Black Dragon this Wednesday, 27 May, 9pm on TCS 8.

I’m going to look so ugly and so badass, you’ll probably won’t recognise me.

And thank God for that. 😛

Lava Tory

Over the weekend, I got an email from the director whose short film project I was helping out with last year.

Turns out the first bit of the short film is up in youtube.

Go check it out :

The audio’s a bit weak though. And I guess on its own, the first bit don’t really make sense. 😛

You all know about that island caretaker job right?

When I first heard of it, I told myself I’ll only apply if I could think up something for the application video. And a few weeks ago, I had this sudden flash of inspiration. Seeing how these flashes are quite rare these days, I decided I should not let the idea go to waste and so I went ahead and did it.

Unfortunately, it was rather close to the deadline and to cut the long story short, the application got rejected because due to some technical fault, the couldn’t view the video.

Ah well. Perhaps its really not meant to be.

Anyhoo, it’s a shame to let see my efforts go to waste just like that. So I’ve decided to put it up here; and hopefully not incur the wrath of the Association of Muses for letting an inspiration go to waste.

Oh, and by the way, I am still searching for a muse. Interested female parties please apply via email. Oh, applications are closed … found her liow ^^

Forgetting Sarah Marshall

It is by far the best romantic comedy I’ve watched in years. And I amazed that the lead actor wrote such a good script as well. Jason, for those not in the know, also acts in How I Met Your Mother.

It was also nice to see Mila Kunis, of The 70s Show fame, in a totally different light.

Excellent script, good acting and a lovely feel good vibe all round. What more can you ask for from a movie?

Go watch it if you haven’t. :)

The Return Of Ang Chee Beng

Posted by Ruok On July - 30 - 2008

Truth Be Told will be shown this Sunday, 3 August, Arts Central, 10pm.

Guess I will be on tv again! 😀

For those who have not caught the movie and have not bought/rent the DVD, this will be a most excellent chance to catch a much underrated local movie. All I ask of you, if you do want to tune in, is to not miss the first five minutes. 😉

Note to self : Avoid the coffeeshop at 10pm on Sunday night…
